Hollywood power couple, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are going to be parents for the first time! Meester went public with her growing belly on Saturday in Los Angeles while on a lunch trip with Brody, as reported in People.
Brody and Meester were allegedly wed in secret in 2014. As many know, the private couple never publicly confirmed their nuptials last year. "It was a very small and intimate wedding with close family and friends," an insider revealed to E News last year. The source further said that the private wedding ceremony was "beautiful."
In a conversation with Nylon in November, Meester hinted at her desire of being a mother in the future. "Most people I know are starting to get married. It'll be kids next," she said. "I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I've got dogs," she added.
Meester shared that her priorities in life are constantly evolving. "It's my family, my friends and having a personal life. Those are the things that need nurturing," she shared, according to E Online.
The actress reportedly put an end to her tour, according to US Magazine. The 29-year-old "Gossip Girl" actress and Brody met on set of "The Oranges" in 2011. "They [Adam and Leighton] were always close and friendly," an insider revealed to US Magazine exclusively.
Another insider observed, "She [Leighon] says she always had a crush on him!"
Brody jokingly said in "Reddit's Ask Me Anything" in August last year that he wanted to have 12 kids, as reported in Yahoo! Celebrity. The couple's unborn baby would be the perfect pal for Blake Lively's daughter, James. Meester and Lively were co-stars in the series, "Gossip Girl."
Meester and Brody both did projects with Josh Schwartz for "Gossip Girl" and "The O.C." The couple subsequently worked together in a comedy movie, called "Life Partners," in 2014.
The "Gossip Girl" actress is glad for having met Brody at work. "I always want to work with people that I like and love and people that I'm friends with. It's nice to mix business with pleasure," she disclosed, according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Meester reacts to her husband kissing his friend, Gillian Jacobs, on-screen. "I think it's good to have that kind of history, and if that makes it awkward, it works because it's kind of awkward kissing people for the first time," she said. The actress added, "But I think that it didn't look awkward, so I don't know. They look in love."
