Princess Charlotte Latest News Update: Royal Baby is 'Fine & Good,' Says Prince William

Since the birth of Princess Charlotte, many of the news about the royal baby have been centered on her and her mother, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. This week, however, Prince William takes center stage as the future king happily shared during an awards ceremony at the Windsor Castle that Princess Charlotte was "fine and good."

Prince William was talking to reggae star, Brinsley Forde, who was set to receive the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contribution to music that night when the conversation turned to Princess Charlotte.

"[I] congratulated him on Charlotte and we spent a little time talking, as my son Jermaine's about to have a little one too. So he congratulated me," Forde shared.

Wearing his Royal Air Force uniform to the formal event, the prince also told Forde, "She's fine, she's good," in reference to the royal baby.

Aside from babies, the two also talked about music, with the prince telling Brinsley that he knows how to play the bass guitar, according to Hello Magazine.

"I've just got a new bass player - you might know him as the Duke of Cambridge," said Forde to the media afterwards. "He said 'I'm a bit good on the bass guitar' so I'm thinking of signing him up, but he's got such a lot of other duties I don't know whether he'll have time to do it," he added in jest.

As the former Aswad frontman, Forde was being honored at Windsor Castle along with Olympian Mary Peters, soccer player Linvoy Primus and a few other distinguished guests.

This was the second public event the prince has attended since the birth of his daughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, according to People Magazine.

Some guests were said to have been surprised to see William there, knowing that he could have been home with his wife and children. In fact, the prince even handed out the awards that night.

"He was very chatty," said Sarah Hunter, the vice-captain of the England's women's rugby team in the People Magazine report. "There's a list of 60 odd people with different stories and backgrounds and to remember and talk about. He gave us all the time to cherish the special day," she added.

Prior to this, the prince was in Switzerland for a meeting with the United for Wildlife movement, a charity he created and supports, as stated in the Hello Magazine story.
