The Naismith Memorial Hall of Famer Induction is getting near and will be presenting basketball Hall of Famers. Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson are among the top names to be inducted at the ceremony.
After 19 years of NBA career, Shaquille O'Neal will now be a part of the Basketball Hall of Famers. According to Yahoo! Sports, Shaq will be presented by former NBA players whom he chose, naming Julius Erving, Alonzo Mourning, Bill Russell and Isiah Thomas.
Shaq had a great NBA career, his character on and off the court earned him a lot of respect from fans to co-NBA players. Also known as the Diesel, Shaq was known to be the most dominant player in the paint during his prime.
Shaq was drafted 1st by the Orlando Magic during the 1992 NBA Draft with a lot of controversies before he was drafted. Before the 1992 draft, 11 NBA lottery teams even printed a team jersey with O'Neal's name and was hanged on every team arena. Fortunately, the Magic had the chance to draft O'Neal, who brought them to the NBA finals in the 1995 NBA season.
On the other hand, Allen Iverson will also be presented by his former Sixers coach Larry Brown. With 11 All-Star selections, Rookie of the Year and an MVP award, Iverson truly deserves a spot in the hall despite numerous scandals that got him involved.
Among other notable names are Yao Ming, who will be presented by Bill Russell, Bill Walton and Dikembe Mutombo. WNBA's Jordan counterpart, Sheryl Swoopes , Tom Izzo, John McClendon, Zelmo Beaty, Darell Garretson, Cumberland Posey and Jerry Reinsdorf.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will take place on September 9th in the Springfield, Massachusetts at exactly 7:30pm EST. The induction ceremony will be broadcasted live on NBA TV as per CBS Sports.
