As far as the public knows, singer Chris Brown dotes on his daughter, Royalty, constantly. On his social media accounts, he often shares photos and anecdotes of her to his fans and even likes talking about her in interviews. His girlfriend, Karreuche Tan, is also in love with the baby. Beyond this, however, it looks like not everything is well between him and Nia Guzman, the mother of his child.
First off, it looks like Nia started setting some limitations for Chris' girlfriend when it comes to Royalty. According to Hollywood Life, while Nia accepted that Chris' girlfriend will be part of the baby's life, she isn't particularly happy when Karrueche showers Royalty with gifts. So, she's setting some limitations.
"Karrueche would be out of line if she were buying Royalty a lot of expensive things like clothes and toys on a regular basis. That's Nia's job, not Karrueche's!" says a source in the Hollywood Life report.
"And if K.T. doesn't act accordingly, we're told that would be "grounds for a serious conversation," the source added. However, this is but the tip of Chris' problem with Nia and the other issue may be harder to resolve.
According to TMZ, Brown allegedly stopped paying monthly child support to Nia since March 2015. Nia said this was after she requested to raise the amount from $2,500 to $15,000 a month. Sources close to Brown told TMZ that he found the new demand "ridiculous," which is why he decided that all payments must be stopped.
His baby mama is now taking the matter to court and will soon be filing the paperwork that would legally satisfy her demands, including paying for the months that Chris have missed. The said legal battle has been brewing for months says the source, despite Chris' pronouncements in the past that he's impressed with the way Nia handles his daughter.
Since Royalty's birth and even as the two are not romantically involved, Chris and Nia managed to remain civil and amiable and worked out parenting their daughter, that is, until this legal hitch. In fact, parenting together had been Chris' idea.
"He's adamant that they raise Royalty together. It's very important to him that they have a near perfect relationship because he wants his daughter to be raised properly - with him and Nia," says a source close to Chris Brown, in a report published on Female First.
"He knows from experience the hardships and heartache it can be without two parents in the same home and he doesn't want that for Royalty," the source added.
Meanwhile, Nia is perhaps just being the protective mother with all these limitations for Karrueche and demands from Chris.
