Milan Pique, the son of "Waka Waka" singer Shakira and Barcelona football star Gerard Pique, is now hailed as one of the youngest people to score a goal at Camp Nou, after the 2-year-old emulated his father's stance and kicked the ball right in the net on Saturday, according to Bleacher Report.
While the rest of the team celebrated their La Liga title, little Milan made his father even more proud after he successfully scored a goal in the field. His mom captured the momentous event in a video uploaded on Instagram. The 2-year-old can be seen running across the field, towards the ball, in the video.
Pausing to presumably get some encouragement from his father, who was standing a few feet away from the little boy, Milan then kicked the ball and scored his first ever goal at Camp Nou. The success of his right-footed attempt to score was cheered on by the audience, that went wild as the child and his parents rejoiced.
Although missing in action last Saturday, Pique and Shakira's younger son, Sasha, also had the chance to watch a football match. The 4-month-old baby was captured hanging out with his mom, grandma Montserrat and big brother Milan in one of his dad's football games in April, according to Hello Magazine. Donning a mini version of his father's Barcelona uniform, Sasha looked adorable in his outfit, which matched Milan's ensemble as well.
Sasha's appearance in the said game brought smiles to the sports fans that day. Moreover, his first public show of support for his dad seemed to be a good luck charm as Pique's team won the match against Valencia by two goals. With this in mind, Sasha might also become a staple in his dad's games, just like his older brother.
Meanwhile, the Saturday celebration was tainted with bittersweet emotions as it also doubled as the send-off for Barcelona's Xavi Hernandez. The National reports that the veteran mid-fielder's final appearance in La Liga marked the 505th time to play in the said competition. He will be joining Qatar's Al Sadd this summer.
"I am the happiest man in the world today and for the 17 season I have been here," said Hernandez to the crowd, as he valiantly fought off tears. "I'm proud to have been a Barca player. This is the best club in the world, whatever they say. I'm very happy. Thank you very much indeed."
