After two years of marriage, Keira Knightley, along with her husband James Righton, welcome the arrival of their first-born child. The "Everest" actress has just given birth, according to several news outlets.
Details of the birth are still unclear, and the couple haven't officially stated whether Keira had a boy or a girl but US Weekly confirmed that the actress is indeed a first-time mother now. According to Sydney Morning Herald, Keira and James have been seen with their new bundle of joy somewhere near their home in London over the weekend.
Keira did not really speak much about her pregnancy and only made the announcement that she was in the family way back in December. She was also glowing and showing her baby bump back in February. At the height of the awards season and while promoting her film, "The Imitation Game," with Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira graced the red carpet wearing maternity dresses that were especially made for her. Her Valentino floral maternity dress at the 87th Annual Academy Awards was widely talked about among social media netizens.
Sometime after, she had a guest appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where she quipped, "My plan is to get it out. [I'll] drop it out, keep working. Pick [the baby] up, that's my plan. That would be wonderful for television, but not so good for me," when Ellen asked if she was ready for labor.
"Somebody said to me the other day, the problem with boys is - sorry, this is horrible - but when you're changing their nappies, you can get the wee in your face," she also revealed to Ellen, when they talked about the possible sex for the baby.
Back in 2012, Keira reportedly discussed being a stay-at-home mother in an interview with Vogue. She said that it could be an option, according to E Online. The actress later clarified, "I remember doing interviews, and people would ask, as if it was a joke, 'So you mean you are a feminist?' As though feminism couldn't be discussed unless we were making fun of it. I don't want to deny my femininity."
Keira met James, a keyboardist for the brand Klaxon, through a mutual friend, model Alexa Chung, who was one of the 11 guests of their very intimate wedding back in 2013 in France. The couple had been dating for two years before getting hitched. As with her pregnancy, Keira also keeps her relationship away from the prying eyes of the press.
