"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere deviates from the Robert Kirkman "TWD" canon by having Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) kill off more than one Alexandria survivor, reports say. Executive producer Greg Nicotero is believed to have confirmed dual deaths in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere and reports now cite fan fear that the "TWD" cast are saying goodbye to Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) when S7 opens.
In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Greg Nicotero is believed to have unintentionally revealed that "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere brutality will see two main "TWD" cast die. "If we would have shown the deaths, then they wouldn't have felt our characters in season 7 the way they need to," Greg Nicotero said of the choice to make the revelation in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere rather than S6 finale.

Greg Nicotero assured "The Walking Dead" fans that the choice of the S6 finale cliffhanger is intended to provide the audience a stronger understanding of the turn of events in Season 7. Interestingly, despite the tragedy of the deaths of Maggie and Glenn (presumably), Greg Nicotero highlights that what "The Walking Dead" fans should take away from the Season 7 premiere is not who Negan kills.

Instead, the deaths in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere are meant to emphasize how wrong Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) had been in thinking that he was in control of events. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere is primarily an illustration that Rick Grimes had been living in a bubble.

The victims, Maggie and Glenn, are simply incidental to the point. To reinforce this, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will introduce "TWD" fans and the Alexandria survivors to The Kingdom and one other group believed to be The Whisperers.
If "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere does kill off Maggie and Glenn, the repercussions among remaining "TWD" cast and among AMC series fans will be all the darker as Cinema Blend points out. Maggie and Glenn had been expecting a baby and had been hopeful that The Hilltop colony had sufficient resources for a healthy pregnancy and easy birth.
Do you believe that "The Walking Dead" Season 7, which premieres on Oct 23 will see Negan swinging Lucille at Maggie and Glenn? Which Alexandria survivor(s) would you have put in the place of Maggie and Glenn in the opening scene of "The Walking Dead" Season 7?
