Chelsea Clinton Trusts Her Mom Will Look After Her Children; Hillary Clinton's Policy For Early Childhood & Families Outlined

Observers say that Hillary Clinton's strategy of channeling motherhood in her presidential campaign has become a huge advantage, especially with a glowing endorsement from her own daughter, Chelsea Clinton. In a recent interview, the younger Clinton said that she has so much trust in her mom when it comes to children, prompting others to examine Hillary Clinton's plans for early childhood and families should she become president.

In an interview via CNN, Chelsea Clinton said that she trusts her mother will take care of her children, "if anything were to happen to me." Along with Chelsea's husband Marc Mezvinsky, they know that Hillary Clinton will always be there for the kids, especially in tough times. "I couldn't imagine a better sign of faith or trust than that," she added.

There is no denying that Chelsea Clinton is Hillary Clinton's best character witness in the latter's bid for the presidency. However, the politician's track record in pushing early childhood and family agenda should also serve as a good measure of what Clinton can do for America. Her supporters point out that she has been about children and family from the very beginning of her career as a politician.

The Hechinger Report outlines that Hillary Clinton has had a long invested interest in early childhood education and family relations in her service to America. In the 90s as First Lady, Hillary spearheaded a program for poor families with infants and toddlers via Early Head Start, according to Ed Week.

After Clinton's term in the White House, Hillary Clinton was ahead of the pack when she pushed for paid parental leave as a senator, which has become an important discussion in the workplace today. Apparently, if Hillary Clinton does become president, one of her top objectives is to use government funds to instigate a big change in early childhood care and education system. This way, America can catch up with the rest of the leaders of the world.

Among her plans include subsidizing child care and preschool expenses and expanding Early Head Start. She also plans on compounding the family policies of the Obama administration, as well as reviewing and potentially increasing the paid parental leave policy.

Hillary Clinton believes that childcare shouldn't be a luxury. "As your President, I'll fight every single day to make America the best place in the world to raise a family," she told The Herchinger Report via email.
