Ray Allen expressed interest in coming back to the NBA a few weeks ago and today it seems that we might be able to guess which team he would probably play with. Ray Allen is reportedly communicating with Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce and rumored for a possibility to play together.
The 41-year old Ray Allen is serious about an NBA comeback, but cited that he is not looking for an NBA Championship contender. Instead, Ray Allen prefers to go to a team that needs his service in a much deeper way.
In a report held by boston.com, Doc Rivers, Ray Allen's former coach in Boston Celtics said that he believes that Allen could still play and make an impact for a team. Doc Rivers was amazed at how Ray Allen able to keep his physique and conditioning without playing basketball.
Though Doc Rivers confirmed that he and Ray Allen has been talking to each other, still Rivers never mentioned any information about their conversation. According to ESPN, Doc Rivers is planning to talk to Paul Pierce which is still considered to be a part of the Clippers and haven't discussed about retiring.
Doc Rivers said in an interview with the ESPN that Paul Pierce was not able to play well last season and he knew that Peirce would not tend to step out of the NBA with that kind of exit. Doc Rivers is set to talk to Paul Pierce within this week, but not expecting a positive answer as the report says.
Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers were last seen together back in Boston Celtics last 2011-2012 NBA season. Alongside with Kevin Garnett, they fought hard together and able to win an NBA title in 2008. Both Allen and Pierce are part of one of the most successful Big 3 ever in the NBA.
To watch Ray Allen and Paul Pierce playing back together is not impossible. Both are still in good shape, good friends and would be a great help for the young team.
