It's been 22 years since the death of the legendary Hollywood actress Audrey Hepburn, but her two sons are still fighting over some of her belongings. Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti, the sons of the star of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" from her first and second marriage, respectively, are said to be having a rift over a storage unit filled with their mother's movie memorabilia like costumes, photos, scripts, awards and other items, according to TMZ.
The storage unit is located at the Los Angeles Fine Arts & Wine Storage Company, but with the brothers unable to decide which item should go to whom, the collection seems to just be gathering dust at the facility. The problem is, Hepburn didn't specify where the pieces must go and only directed the boys to share everything 50/50, says the report. Because many of these items are of historical and iconic value, which means these can amount to lots of money, the brothers' disagreement can't easily be settled.
The fight has gotten so bad that the matter is reportedly already in court, according to People Magazine. Ferrer filed against Dotti and he is seeking a trial from the jury. Ferrer, the eldest, is the son of the actress with actor Mel Ferrer, while Dotti is her son with Andrea Dotti, a psychiatrist from Italy.
Only a few weeks ago, Dotti spoke about his mother in Vogue UK and said that Audrey Hepburn had always wondered why she was seen as an icon of beauty. "She was very shy about that part of her global appreciation," Dotti said.
Hepburn's attitude about her beauty was the same attitude she had regarding her star status, 'She didn't have a high opinion of her own work and she would be quite amazed that she's an icon and example in so many ways," her son goes on to share. The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards winner was said to have been looking forward to ageing gracefully and was not a fan of plastic surgery.
According to Dotti in a report from Daily Mail, when he was younger, he wasn't aware about his mother's popularity, especially since times were different back then.
"My mother was private but she was very open, she didn't drive so she walked in the streets and there was the occasional paparazzi outside the restaurant or walking in the street but that was it," Dotti shared in the Daily Mail news story. He was quite surprised by the public outpouring of grief when her mother died.
