Jenelle Evans, one of the controversial characters in the reality show "Teen Mom 2", has an arrest warrant issued against her due to the charges pressed by her ex-fiancé and the father of her 6-year-old son, according to TMZ.
Myrtle Beach police disclosed that Nathan Griffith, Evans' ex and the alleged victim, reported the "Teen Mom 2" star for allegedly physically assaulting him in front of his own home early Wednesday in South Carolina. The reality star reportedly "attacked and choked" the dad of her son, Kaiser, which pushed the latter to press charges against her.
According to Griffith, the incident began when he received a phone call from Evans, who informed him that she was outside his house. While he could have just ignored such information, Griffith had to rush out as Evans told him she was in the process of breaking his car.
Running outside to salvage his vehicle, Griffith was reportedly met by a frantic Evans, who attacked him, kicking and screaming. He claims to have been punched and slapped several times by the reality star. She also allegedly attempted to kick him down a flight of stairs as well.
Although the arrest warrant was actually issued by authorities, it appears that Griffith may have had a change of heart while at the police station. Amy S. Lawrence, the attorney handling the case of Evans, revealed to Us Weekly that charges will no longer be pressed.
"He [Griffith] will do everything that he can to get these charges dismissed for Jenelle," confirmed Lawrence to Us Weekly. "He understands that she's hurt because they've broken up, and he's dating somebody else and things escalated in a way they shouldn't have. But he does not want her to have any kind of criminal consequence for this."
Evans shared that the altercation began when her ex refused to give back their son, whom she was picking up from Griffith's place at the time. Furthermore, she said that her former fiancé stole her phone, which prompted her to eventually defend herself. This was later on confirmed by her representative via Twitter.
However, Lawrence told Us Weekly that Evans will also no longer press charges against Griffith.
"I can confirm that there is a warrant out for Jenelle's arrest for criminal domestic violence, stemming from an incident that happened last night," said Lawrence. "She is not taking any charges out on him."
Lawrence also offered her opinion regarding the reason behind the incident. "She's just... I think that in her heart she thought that maybe with them breaking up that they would get back together because they have a child together," the lawyer elucidated. "And I think she's just very hurt that he has moved on."
