‘Better Late Than Never’ Season 2 Cancellation News: Are The Ratings Enough To Get A Renewal On NBC?

"Better Late Than Never" has concluded its first season on TV with a bang. The NBC reality series led by William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Henry Winkler has generated quite a lot of attention among fans and viewers. Were Season 1 ratings enough to pull in a renewal for Season 2?

"Better Late Than Never" Season 1 pulled in 1.7 ratings or 7.78 million viewers in the 18-49 demographics, which is higher than other shows from the same time slot such as "NCIS: New Orleans" and ABC's "Agents of SHIELD," reports TV by the Numbers. This increases chances for a renewal for another season.

However, NBC still has not released an official renewal order for "Better Late Than Never" Season 2. As Carter Matt notes, ratings are not the only factors that networks take into account when the question of a show's renewal or cancellation arises.

"Better Late Than Never" Season 1 ratings has undoubtedly exceeded everyone's expectations, with the show averaging 1.6 in ratings. The publication notes that the ratings are as astounding as other hit reality shows like "American Ninja Warrior."

What may be stopping NBC from renewing "Better Late Than Never" Season 2, however, is its cast members. As the publication notes in its report, it would take a lot of time and effort in getting the original group back together for another season.

There is also a possibility that "Better Late Than Never" Season 2 cast will be an entirely different set of actors in order to provide variety for the audience. However, many fans expressed that they are hoping to see at least some of the original cast members in the (possible) second season of the show.

Should NBC renew "Better Late Than Never" Season 2? Should the original cast be in it or are you interested in seeing new actors for the second season? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
