Vince Carter of the Memphis Grizzlies is rumored to land in Cleveland Cavaliers via trade this season in the expense of Iman Shumpert. Several NBA trade rumors are spreading all over the internet and seems this trade could be possible.
It's no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently on the upgrade campaign to their roster before the 2016-2017 NBA season starts. According to iTechpost, Iman Shumpert could be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Vince Carter.
It would be obvious that Carter - Shumpert trade is not a good deal due to Vince Carter's age and health. As per Yibada reported, the Memphis Grizzlies could bundle up Brandan Wright along with Vince Carter in order for the trade to push through.
For some basketball analyst, this trade would be very logical. Both the Cavaliers and the Grizzlies would gain a lot of value if this trade should materialize.
The key on this possible trade rumor is the Cavaliers could acquire Brandan Wright in which they are looking for a good rim protector. Brandan Wright averaged 1.2 blocks and 4.9 rebounds per 21 minutes of action on the court. A decent post defender with a good defensive IQ, there is no doubt that Brand Wright could make an impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
As for Vince Carter, he would be a good mentor for the young core players of the Cavaliers and would be a good backup clutch shooter to J.R. Smith once signed. Despite being old enough for the NBA league, Carter still proves his outside shooting is a good contribution to the Cavaliers with regards to spreading the defense.
On the other hand, Iman Shumpert would be an obvious upgrade for the Memphis Grizzlies. With Tony Allen on the starting shooting guard, the Grizzlies would have 2 defensive shooting guard. Iman Shumpert is also a premier outside shooter that would give the opponent a hard time focusing on defending the paint.
This NBA trade rumor would likely be one of the interesting trade if materialize. As for the moment, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still focusing on keeping J.R. Smith before making some changes on their current roster.
