Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed Divorce: Couple To Start Up Own Production Company - Real Reason Behind ‘TVD’ Departure?

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed divorce rumors have been heating up online since news of Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 came to light. While Somerhalder's departure from The CW drama is believed to be due to his ex-girlfriend, a recent post from the couple offers a different explanation.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will be reuniting for the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries" to give "Delena" fans a fitting conclusion their story. This reunion between the former lovers led to speculations that Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed, is feeling jealous and threatened because of their undeniable chemistry behind and in front of the cameras, reports Unreality TV.

Somerhalder announced his departure from "TVD" Season 8 even before The CW confirmed that the series was coming to an end. Back then, sources claimed that Reed forced Somerhalder to do so because their marriage was falling apart.

However, a recent Instagram post from Somerhalder shatters these rumors. Somerhalder was holding Reed's hand in the photo and the actor thanked his wife for supporting him with his plan to create a production company.

This means that Somerhalder and Reed were not, in any way, threatened of Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Instead, Somerhalder was keen on leaving the show because he already has plans to start his own company and produce his own shows.

Somerhalder also recently posted an intimate photo of him and his wife, which was taken as the actor's response to the never-ending divorce rumors surrounding him and Reed. It also remains to be seen whether or not Dobrev will be back in "TVD" Season 8.
