Bandai Namco Entertainment announced an expansion to "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4," the latest entry in the "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja" series of fighting games, entitled "Road to Boruto" and starring Naruto Uzumaki's son.
In addition to the being an expansion to "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4," "Road to Boruto" will also be final game in the "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja" series according to Polygon. As is wont for the games in the series featuring story campaigns from the franchise' animated media, the expansion will adapt the story of last year's "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" and will feature characters from the film.
"We've been developing the 'Naruto: Ultimate Ninja' series for 15 years since the first one," said a Bandai Namco on the company's plans for the series ending despite the fact that "the series has sold 15 million copies." Apparently planning to finish the series with a bang, a lot of effort was poured into the development of the "Road to Boruto" expansion of "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4."
As the "Road to Boruto" expansion of "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will adapt from the film starring all new characters, it is not known who will provide the English voices for their English voices for the game considering that the "Boruto" movie has yet to feature an English localization.
In their appearance at the end of the English version of "The Last: Naruto the Movie," Boruto and Himawari were simply voiced by their parent's voice actresses. As "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" featured older versions of the children, it is unknown what the English localization team for the "Road to Boruto" expansion has planned for the "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" expansion.
Aside from the characters, other details for the expansion have also been revealed by the Anime News Network. "Road to Boruto" will come in both physical release and digital download version for "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4."
Those who already own "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" can simply get "Road to Boruto" as DLC. Other fluff includes a limited edition soundtrack, available from February 2 to March 1, and a reversible box cover art for the physical release.
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto" will release on February 2, 2017.
