‘Vikings' Season 4 Air Date, News & Update: Ragnar Lothbrok In Final Farewell To Rollo, Aslaug, Floki? Ivar, Jonathan Rhys Meyers Enemies?

"Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere is a season of farewells for Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), who will say goodbye to brother Rollo (Clive Standen), wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and friend Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard). As "Vikings" changes leads from Ragnar Lothbrok to Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) and Ivar The Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen), the latter will be enemies with Jonathan Rhys Meyers' character.

Fans of the History series would have the "Vikings Season 4" midseason to enjoy seeing Ragnar Lothbrok in the same episodes as Rollo, Aslaug and Floki for the last time. IMDb indicates that the "Vikings" series will lose Rollo Lothbrok, Aslaug and Floki as the trio will no more be seen past 2016.

While, Rollo historically continues as a Duke in France, "Vikings Season 4" will reveal if Ragnar Lothbrok loses Aslaug and Floki by death or circumstance. At this point, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), who was last seen by "Vikings" series fans threatening the second wife of Ragnar Lothbrok, seems the likely cause of Aslaug exiting.

Meanwhile, Travis Fimmel takes Ragnar Lothbrok well into 2017 in the "Vikings" series. However, Parent Herald cites that Travis Fimmel confirmed that the death of Ragnar Lothbrok in the "Vikings" series will be portrayed as close to historical accounts as possible.

"Vikings Season 4" midseason essentially marks a transition between series leads, of which creator Michael Hirst spoke to Entertainment Weekly. "He really is someone who's going to take the show forward," Michael Hirst said of "Vikings" newcomer Alex Hogh Andersen, who plays Ivar The Boneless.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is also expected to join the History series cast in "Vikings Season 5." Although Jonathan Rhys Meyers' role is undivulged for now, the bone of contention between his character will be with Ivar The Boneless rather than Ragnar Lothbrok, further confirming a "Vikings Season 5" without the Kattegat ruler.

History brings back Ragnar Lothbrok and his grown sons in the "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere on November 30. What of the changes that "Vikings Season 4" will bring are you most looking forward to?
