With "The Real Housewives of New York" in its seventh season, rumor has it that some cast members think returning cast member Bethenny Frankel has a say in the editing of each episode. But Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the said franchise, revealed that this isn't the case.
As reported by Pagesix.com, he emphasized that she has no say in the outcome of the episodes. He added that she gets the episodes when the other cast mates do.
"We send the 'Housewives' the episodes the week before. She has absolutely no say," Cohen stated.
And according to Inquisitr.com, Cohen stated, "I've said to [Bethenny] this season, 'Oh, you're not going to like X, Y or Z. You look like a beast!' But she has nothing to do with editing, she has no knowledge of what's going to be in the episodes, she has no warning."
It has been noted that Frankel had some disputes with fellow cast member Heather Thomson. Frankel discussed her differences with Thomson through an article posted on her blog site.
Viewers of the show may recall an incident during the birthday outing of Dorinda Medley wherein she had an argument with Thomson. This led to a dispute regarding her problems making friends with others.
In fact, as Inquistr.com further reported, Thomson also posted a blog article about the said situation. She recalled how matters escalated but in the end stated, "I can see how upset Bethenny is getting, and I am out of my own skin, so I try to take her aside in an attempt to salvage things privately.'
The said tension between Frankel and Thomson took a turn for the worse and somehow made other members speculate as to Frankel's involvement in the show's editing. Although Cohen has cleared the issue, it looks like Frankel may have "some" control over the show after all.
It has been said that Bethenny Frankel's return, after a hiatus of three seasons, has boosted the ratings of the show's current season.
"The Real Housewives of New York" season 7 has started with a high rating last April 2015, with a double digit growth of 22 percent, compared to the prior season premiere last March 2014, as reported by thewrap.com.
Frankel reportedly brought drama and attention to the latest season and may have contributed to the bigger ratings.
