Good news for all the Stephen King fans! Not only is the "Dark Tower" book series showing in February 2017 in cinemas, it will also have a television series!
The TV series will be an adaptation of the fourth book of the "Dark Tower" book series, "Wizard and Glass," according to Comicbook. The series will be the backstory of the film, which, for the fans of Stephen King, makes waiting for 2017 and 2018 to come even better.
Starring in the TV series is Idris Elba as Roland Deschain, while Matthew McConaughey as Man in Black in the movie, may have the chance to come back in the series, the Entertainment Weekly reported. Tom Taylor will play as Jake Chambers, a 15-year-old from New York who has "the shine," psychic power. The movie "explores the hero and villain's opposing quests to reach an otherworldly tower that connects their apocalyptic realm with ours."
But the producers warn that the show is too dark that they need a distributor. The show is as dark as the hit series "Game of Thrones."
The story will revolve around Idris Elba's character, Roland, who wants to bring down the Man in Black. The Man in Black wants to bring the Tower down and unleash a terrifying world ruled by the Crimson King. In the movie, the Man in Black will be played by Matthew McConaughey. The Man in Black is a semi-imortal character in the movie with the name Walter Padick.
If all goes well with the fist season, fans may well expect that another season is in store. MRC and Sony Pictures will be financing the run of 10 to 13 episodes of the series. The cast will start shooting in 2017 and the series will run in 2018. The "Dark Tower" movie is directed by Nikolaj Arcel.
