Prince Charles could not help but talk about his new granddaughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. During a tea party hosted by the future king and his wife, Camilla, at Clarence House, the Prince of Wales gladly shared the latest tidbit on the royal baby to some of the guests.
"We were talking about grandchildren, and he was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George," said Geoff Bradley, one of the guests, in reference to the comments made by Prince Charles, as reported by Mirror UK. Bradley, like many of the guests, was part of the pilots and aircrew from WWII who were being honored by Wales.
It's not a surprise that the 66-year-old prince would be so charmed by Princess Charlotte as he expressed days after his granddaughter was born that a baby girl is what he had really been hoping for. "She is beautiful. I was hoping for a granddaughter. Someone to look after me when I am very old," the prince said to the crowd in attendance at Poundbury Cancer Institute back in May, US Magazine reported.
The royal siblings' mother, Kate Middleton, has been holed out in the family's private estate in Anmer Hall, where she plans to raise the kids away from the crowd at the palace. Last Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge shared photos she took of her two children to the world. It showed Prince George cuddling his baby sister in the most charming way.
Meanwhile, guests at the tea party also shared that Prince Charles fondly recalled his days as a helicopter pilot for the Royal Navy and noted how different the aircraft is today compared to his time in the '70s. Prince Charles animatedly talked about Apache pilots and the fact that flying now involves more complicated instruments. He regarded this as "all right for the Playstation generation," with its confusing controls, but also fondly recalled that he used to play video games with his children, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Just like their father, the princes have trained to work as pilots. However, the future king said that he's really impressed with Harry, "I take my hat off to my youngest, he seemed to be coping," he told the guests, as reported by Daily Mail.
While Prince William works as an ambulance helicopter pilot, Prince Harry is with the army and has actually flown Apache helicopters in his tour in Afghanistan. He willl go on another tour in 10 months, the report said.
