'Supergirl' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Upcoming Premiere Tagged Best Hour On TV? What To Know

Get ready to really be wowed by "Supergirl" in Season 2! Advance previews for of the first episode on The CW have so far been largely positive. The episode, entitled "The Adventures of Supergirl," has been dubbed as the "best hour on TV."

Comic Book reports that the first episode of "Supergirl" Season 2 seamlessly combines fun and action that makes it one of the best things to watch on television of late. It features Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) for the first time and the vibe about his appearance is comparable to when Grant Gustin guest starred as "The Flash."

"Supergirl" Season 2's first episode also brings back the nostalgia for those who have loved the Richard Donner versions of "Superman" from the 80s. Meanwhile, for those wondering if Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) would almost be non-existent in the series, her first appearance back on "Supergirl" remains significant and she has ample screen time. Hopefully, this isn't all viewers will get of the tough but endearing character. It has been rumored that her character's participation would have to be scaled down in later episodes.

In another Comic Book report, it has been revealed that there will be an unexpected cast appearance linked with Superman in "Supergirl" Season 2's first offering. New characters will immediately be introduced, such as Maggie Sawyer (played by Floriana Lima), Lena Luthor (played by Katie McGrath) and Snapper Carr (played by Ian Gomez).

"Supergirl" Season 2's first episode will also answer the big mystery it left off in the first season finale with a new pod dropping on Earth. The pod will contain Mon-El, a Draxamite alien creature with similar abilities as Superman. Screen Rant suggested that this is perhaps why Superman is going to be in the episode -- to help his cousin figure out what to do with Mon-El.

"Supergirl" Season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 10 on The CW. The show, which is led by Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, also stars Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Mehcad Brooks and David Harewood.
