Sacramento Kings and Rudy Gay are among the favorite picks in the NBA trade rumor mills. Reports have it that Gay is no longer happy with Kings and want to be traded. According to recent reports, the player might join James Harden in Houston Rockets.
Rudy Gay has been linked to a number of teams in the NBA league. Just recently, Parent Herald previously reported that Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins might be traded to Cleveland Cavaliers to join LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
Many believe that Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins' addition to Cavs would give the contender team a stronger chance in winning against Golden State Warriors' who just acquired Kevin Durant. However, new sources claim that Gay might head to Houston Rockets and join James Harden instead.
According to Morning News USA, Houston Rockets is interested in signing Rudy Gay after losing Michael Beasley. Beasley just signed with Milwaukee Bucks this offseason and the team wants Gay to replace their former small forward and power forward.
Michael Beasley was traded to Bucks for Tyler Ennis. Thus, leaving the small forward position empty and making Rudy Gay a perfect fit for the team. Aside from Gay's potential to fill Michael Beasley's position, many believe that a James Harden and Rudy Gay tandem will benefit Houston Rockets.
If James Harden and Rudy Gay work together, the pair is expected to bring a lot of scoring options for Rockets. This is an issue for the team last season but with Gay they might just find a solution.
However, per the report, Rudy Gay might need some adjustment when he joins James Harden in Houston Rockets. Harden will remain to be the team's star but with two veterans on the team, the competition will always live.
At the time Rudy Gay has not signed with Houston Rockets and these things remain a speculation. However, chances are high that Rockets would go after Gay, especially that the player has already expressed his interest in leaving Sacramento Kings.
