"Attack on Titan" Chapter 86 is expected to unveil the identities of the characters depicted in the photo discovered by Eren and Mikasa in Dr. Yeager's journals. Eren and his team are also suggested to decipher the meaning of the statement found at the back of the old picture that states "Humanity was neither annihilated nor destroyed."
Fans of "Attack on Titan" speculate that one of the people showed in the picture is Grisha, Eren's father. However, an "Attack on Titan" enthusiast believe that the man is not Grisha but the first king of the Reiss family instead. "Attack on Titan" fans have their own evidences to prove their speculations, including several images of Grisha which disprove that he is the man in the picture.
Meanwhile, in "Attack on Titan" Chapter 85, Eren and his team found that there is a group of humans who live free from Titans situated outside the walls, Christian Today reported. Because of this discovery, "Attack on Titan" Chapter 86 is suggested to finally start revealing the secrets and mysteries behind Titans.
Moreover, the people shown in the photo discovered by Eren wore formal attires which reportedly do not exist in the world of "Attack on Titan." This may imply that Dr. Yeager was aware that there were other settlements living outside the wall. "Attack on Titan" readers believe that the writing on the back of the photo actually refers to those people who are not living inside their nation. This could also mean that Dr. Yeager was able to manage crossing the walls and live outside for a period of time, Christian Times reported.
