Leah Messer is once again a single lady as her divorce from Jeremy Calvert was finalized on Monday, according to Radar Online. The "Teen Mom 2" star was absent during the proceeding but a source revealed that her now ex-husband was in the court room. Apart from Calvert, the rest of the MTV crew, presumably filming for Season 6 of the reality show, were in the vicinity as well. Their presence, however, reportedly angered the judge who perceived the entire filming of the proceeding as "disruptive."
Meanwhile, the notable absence of Messer was attributed to the need for her to be in rehab, according to the source who spoke to Radar Online. While no further details were given regarding Messer's condition, sources disclosed that she is currently in rehab due to her "prescription painkiller habit."
In an earlier report by Radar Online, insider revealed that Messer could have been taking these drugs without the prescription of doctors for a long time. "We think Leah could be taking powerful painkillers including Lortab and Percocet," the source shared. "They are very easy to get on the streets in her hometown," she added.
According to Us Weekly, the reason for Messer's rehab stint include stress and depression. At present, she is in the process of completing a 30-day program to help her deal with the said concerns. Although Messer was absent during the proceeding, her lawyer was in the court room in her behalf. Us Weekly also revealed that the custody for the couple's child, 2-year-old Adalynn, was granted to Messer but Calvert was given visitation rights.
The judge sealed the divorce documents of the couple to avoid airing their dirty laundry especially with the presence of their daughter as well as Messer's other children, twins Ali and Aleeah, 5, whom she had from her previous marriage with Corey Simms. Despite the judge's effort to protect the privacy of the family, it appears that the public is already privy to the potential reasons behind the divorce of Messer and Calvert.
Throughout the three-year marriage of the two, rumors of infidelity by both parties hounded their relationship. Apart from these rumors, some sources disclosed that the couple have been fighting like cats and dogs even with the most trivial matters. The source told Us Weekly, "It's just a lot of small things that just build up over time, but it does seem like they're breaking up now."
"Teen Mom 2" Season 6 will air on July 9 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
