1. Time Jump - There will be a short time jump in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 because it will pick up a few months after 13 prisoners escaped from jail. Also, the new season will not follow how the BAU catch all the fugitives.
According to International Business Times, FBI's Fugitive Task Force Leader Luke Alves (Adam Rodriguez) already caught the eight fugitives but will help BAU catch the remaining five. The first "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode will focus on Peter Lewis' Mr. Scratch.
2. Adam Rodriguez is Luke Alvez - Per Entertainment Weekly, the "CSI: Miami" alum is now a regular in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 where he specializes in fugitive recovery.
Rodriguez's character in "Criminal Minds" is promising. The actor teases that the getting back the fugitives will be a chase of mind as his character learns to think how those criminals do.
3. Thomas Gibson's Departure - Per IBTimes, Thomas Gibson who plays as BAU team leader Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner was fired while filming "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode 3. The actor allegedly assaulted Virgil Williams, "Criminal Minds" producer and writer.
In episode 3, Hotch is assigned a mission elsewhere. What fans should look forward to is how Hotch's absence will be explained in episode 3 onwards. Will they kill the character or have him resign for personal reasons like Shemar Moore's Derek Morgan?
