Disappointed fans of "The Walking Dead" might have not yet forgiven the show for leaving with a huge cliffhanger last season. However, the heavily criticized move could actually be a turning point when the show returns. Allegedly, the first episode back for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is going to be horrific, so maybe it is a good thing the show waited to air a brutal scene.
"The Walking Dead" ended last season with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) getting ready to bludgeon someone with his deadly baseball bat Lucille. However, the decision to show what really happened has been put off until Season 7.
According to Tom Payne, who was introduced last season as Jesus, the gory scene with Negan is the perfect opening for "The Walking Dead" Season 7. "It's the beginning of the whole next story, it sets up Negan, this awful, awful person and the things that he is capable of doing," Tom Payne said, via Express.
Comic Book has the synopsis of "The Walking Dead" Season 7, which talks starting over, albeit in the most miserable way. "The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn't what they thought it was. It's bigger and it's even more dangerous."
When "The Walking Dead" returns for Season 7, the show will no longer waste time revealing who Negan kills as the episode will open with this. There have been plenty of speculation about the victim. In fact, AMC teased eleven possibilities, per Independent. Viewers are being forewarned to prepare themselves for what will happen.
Meanwhile, viewers will also see new characters in "The Walking Dead" Season 7, such as Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his tiger Shiva, which will be a CGI addition, according to Slash Film. If Negan is going to be the big bad this season, Ezekiel is predicted to become a fan favorite.
Indeed, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is in for big changes, which should hopefully bring disappointed fans back to the fold. The show returns on AMC on Oct. 23.
