NBA Trade Rumors: Timberwolves Are Not Shopping Ricky Rubio; Tom Thibodeau To Start Ricky Rubio and Kris Dunn Together

Minnesota Timberwolves' newly acquired Head Coach Tom Thibodeau praised Ricky Rubio on his skills as a point guard. This shows that the Timberwolves are likely to keep Ricky Rubio and will not be dealt.

During an interview with the Star Tribune, Thibodeau said that he loved Ricky Rubio's play style. A pass-first point and serious defender, Thibodeau said that Rubio would be a good fit on his system.

In addition, Thibodeau discussed their plans for this season. The Timberwolves might run the floor with two point guards this season, having Ricky Rubio and Kris Dunn in the starting line-up.

According to the Fan Sided, the Minnesota Timberwolves needs to work on defense as they ranked 28th in defense last season. Ricky Rubio would be the biggest factor for the Timberwolves when it comes to defense as he can steal the ball off the dribble and he can also cover up the passing lanes with his defensive IQ.

On the other hand, Coach Tom Thibodeau was known to be one of the best coaches around the NBA league. Leading the Bulls in 5 straight NBA Playoffs appearance, Thibodeau hasn't failed yet on a regular season in his 5-year stint as a head.

Claiming that liked how Rubio handles the ball on offense and praised his defense, it is clear that Ricky Rubio will be staying with the Timberwolves this season. Kris Dunn is a good addition to the team as he is known to be a scorer back in his college days.

Kriss Dunn is one of the greatest point guards in college. Dunn possesses an NBA ready body build, he got the speed of a point, with the scoring ability of a shooting guard.

This year, the Minnesota Timberwolves had a higher chance to enter the NBA Playoffs, with Coach Tom Thibodeau surrounded with potential NBA All-Star like Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, it is no doubt that he can lead the Timberwolves to a much brighter future.
