Kate Middleton and Prince William will welcome their baby in July. An official statement released by St. James' Palace, Monday Jan. 14, confirmed the news.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," Us Weekly quoted the official statement. "The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month."
Interestingly, the baby will be arriving the same month in which Prince William's mother Princess Diana was born (July 1).
"This is the announcement they were hoping to make all along. The Duke and Duchess are delighted that they can finally make the official announcement today," a source told Us Weekly.
"We are looking at the very early days of July," a royal insider added to the magazine. The official statement has also helped in eliminating rumors that the royal couple is expecting twins.
Rumors about the royal couple expecting their first child have been doing the rounds for more than a year. However, the couple confirmed the news only recently in December, when Middleton was admitted to hospital for experiencing a severe form of morning sickness known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the condition normally occurs while carrying twins, the media jumped to the conclusion that the royal couple is expecting twins.
Middleton met Prince William while studying Art History at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. The couple started dating in 2002, got engaged in 2010 and tied the knot the following year.
