Michael's Jackson's youngest son, Blanket Jackson, has changed his name after years of bullying.
The 13-year-old son of the King of Pop reportedly changed his name from Blanket to Bigi because of the grief his name has caused, published Radar Online. Currently, the teen -- born Michael Jackson Jr -- is completing seventh grade in The Buckley School in California. Apparently, Blanket has resented his father for giving him a name that has made him such an easy target for teasing.
"He always thought that the name Blanket sounded so stupid and resented his father for calling him that," reported the insider to Radar. "Growing up, his school mates have always been slightly mean to him because of their jealousy over who he is and going by Blanket made him a much easier target for ridicule."
For those wondering, Bigi is German in origin and means "idealistic, sensitive, and inspirational." Inquisitr adds that an individual bearing the name Bigi is said to be "generous and people are drawn to you because of your friendly and sympathetic nature."
The change is reflected in the teen's middle school yearbook where he is identified as Bigi instead of Blanket. Upon entering the new school, the teen told everyone his name was BIgi and that's what he's been called since then.
Offering more information about the young celebrity, the Inquisitr adds that Bigi is a lot like his father. His extracurricular activities involve helping others, specifically younger kids and he's reportedly very good at communicating and making connections with young children.
Bigi is the youngest of three siblings, 18-year-old Prince and 17-year-old Paris. Bigi currently lives with his legal guardian, grandmother Katherine, 85, as well as his 36-year-old cousin TJ. Bigi was only seven at the time of his father's death on June 25, 2009.
The "Heal The World" singer was aged 50 at the time of his death. The legendary musician was found unconscious and not breathing in his bed and was later pronounced dead at the UCLA Medical Center. Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication and suffered cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.
