'Black Moon' Friday: Believed Special Time For Witchcraft; End Of The World? [VIDEO]

"Black Moon" is a reference to a rare astronomical event that will happen tonight and tomorrow, Saturday. A "Black Moon" is a name referred to a new moon appearing two times in one month. This month will see it on September 30.

Literally, the term is opposite of the "Blue Moon" meaning two full moons in one month. A "Black Moon" was last seen in 2014 in the month of March. It is the intersection of planetary geometry and the Georgian calendar.

Joe Rao from space.com explains: "A second full moon in a single calendar month is sometimes called a blue moon. A black moon is supposedly the flip side of a blue moon; the second new moon in a single calendar month."

Time and Date explains: "Black Moon is not a well-known term in the astronomy world. In recent years, the term has been made popular by astrologers and followers of the Wiccan religion."

According to Study.com, the "Black Moon" phenomenon refers to a 'moon' that disappears between the sun and the earth with it's with its illuminated side facing away from us. While, a new moon occurs every 29.5 days.

It is believed that Wiccans of the Paganism community take the "Black Moon" night as very special night for rituals, spells and other workings as the night is considered to be more powerful and effective. Wiccans are also known as Pan Witchcraft, who celebrate during the cycles of moon.

The last black moon was in March 2014 and the next one after this year's is expected in 2019. Stay tuned for more updates.
