"The Young and the Restless" star Michael Muhney is reportedly recovering from surgery as part of his skin cancer treatment. Meanwhile, fans of the show are excited to see the actor as Adam Newman once again after Justin Hartley left the role.
"The Young and the Restless" actor needed to undergo a minor surgical condition to let his doctor cut a part of his skin and run a skin biopsy, Inquisitr reported. Though the surgery is minor, Muhney had to bear 10 stitches in addition to a long bandage the doctor had to wrap around his head.
During his visit to the doctor, "The Young and the Restless" star tweeted photos of himself, one of which showed a bandage wrapped around his head. The tweet was captioned, "Wear your sunscreens kids. #NoSkinCancer had surgery today. 10 stitches. Yikes."
Muhney may need time to recover from his current condition but aside from his recovery, "The Young and the Restless" fans seem to be excited to see him bring life to the character of Adam in the show once again. To recall, Muhney played as Adam from 2009 to 2014 as previously reported by Parent Herald.
Since it is now established that Justin Hartley will no longer cast as Adam in "The Young and the Restless" due to a scheduling issue, fans apparently cannot think of any other actor who can reprise the role of Adam. It is important to note, however, that Adam is already presumed dead in "The Young and the Restless."
If ever Adam is still alive as what some fans hope and believe, Muhney is expected to play the role especially after he posted a teaser on his Twitter account in July. He tweeted a throwback image with one of his "The Young and the Restless" co-star little Max Page.
"The Young and the Restless" producer, however, has not confirmed plans regarding Adam's character. There is also still no confirmation whether Muhney has been contacted again to consider the role.
