The PS VR will finally arrive next week after a long wait for Sony PlayStation 4 fans and to ramp up the hype and anticipation for virtual reality headset, the contents of the PS VR package box has been revealed so gamers know just what to expect when they finally dive into the world of virtual reality gaming.
A video showing an unboxing of the PS VR was shared on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, as reported by Gizmodo, showing the myriad of devices and peripherals coming along with the PS VR core bundle. One of the primary things in the box is, of course, the PS VR headset itself, the specifications of which was reiterated by the video for more hype factor.
The PS VR headset itself contains a 1080p organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen, with the visor featuring the integrated LED motion sensors. Directly connected to the PS VR is the in-line remote for manipulating the PS VR headset's audio and microphone settings.
For those unaware, the PS VR headset includes a built-in microphone with the in-line remote featuring a jack port for those who would prefer to use their own audio peripherals. It is unlikely that the PS VR also includes the capacity to utilize head-mounted audio devices with their own mics, as the remote's jack port was only stated to be for output.
Another item of note in the PS VR core bundle is the PS VR processor unit not only manages the functions and connections of the PS VR in conjunction with the PS 4 device and the TV it is connected to, but also carries the PS VR's Social Screen Experience. Other inclusions in the bundle are the wires and connecting cables needed to hook up the PS VR.
The PS VR core bundle also includes the PS VR demo disk, which features 18 playable demos for those who might want to get to trying out their new PS VR but not yet have any VR-ready games. What is not included in the PS VR core bundle, however, is the PS Eye Camera, which is fully required in order to use the PS VR in the first place, along with the PS Move controllers.
Getting the PS VR will also allow PlayStation 4 owners to get into the Playroom VR game which has even more mini games and other programs that can make use of the PS VR's capabilities. Get the PS VR core bundle when the PS VR launches next week Thursday, Oct. 13.
