'Battle Creek' Star Josh Duhamel Talks About Son Axl & His Discovery of Candies & Toys

"Battle Creek" star Josh Duhamel's toddler, Axl, has just discovered candies and the 42-year-old dad admits that it's harder to keep his 22-month-old son off of it now.

"[He's] discovered candy, which we're hoping to stay off as long as possible," Josh told People Magazine, but concedes that he and his wife, Black Eyed Peas member Fergie, sometimes fail at it. "When my sister and my friends are in town and they see him, that's the first thing they do to try to win his favor," Josh adds.

The father, however, is thrilled that his son is learning something new every day as he grows into a young boy. Lately, the two have started bonding over action figures. Because Josh is a collector, he's even more thrilled Axl is showing the same interest. "He's just passed the phase where he's chewing on toys and now he's starting to realize, 'This one is this and this one is this,'" Josh added.

Axl is also starting to appreciate video games and have been with his dad at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles recently, according to Daily Mail. The boy was awe-struck by what he saw. He eagerly sat on his dad's lap and watched Josh play at the Activision's Skylanders SuperChargers booth. Incidentally, Josh voiced one of the characters in the video game.

"He's super curious and talking like crazy," Josh excitedly said about his son. The first-time father relishes in the idea of being a hands-on dad and doesn't mind when people refer to him as "Fergie's baby dad," he told E! Online in May. He's also always seen carrying his boy with him when the family goes for their usual walks and errands.

As Axl turns two years old this August, Josh and Fergie are rumored to be considering having another baby via adoption, according to OK! Magazine. While this has not been confirmed, he did say in a recent TV interview with The Insider that he would like another boy. But he would be happy with a girl just the same.

The timing couldn't be more perfect for baby number two as Josh isn't currently tied up to any TV projects. While most actors would be devastated about losing a show, this father isn't bummed "Battle Creek" was cancelled by CBS last month. Instead, he sees this as an opportunity to spend more time with his impressionable Axl.
