According to PR Newswire, 90 percent of children are using education technology-based learning materials at home and almost 70 percent begin by the age of five. As for the educators and parents, 84 percent of them are interested in using EdTech-based learning materials to reinforce the lessons being taught in school.

Due to the promising potential of education technology, K-12 strategy specialist David Andrade revealed that teachers are looking for more up-to-date ways to connect with students by using a more personal, individualized and data-driven pedagogical approach. According to EdTech magazine's EdTech Focus On K-12, emerging technology trends could boost a more profound relationship between students and teachers.

Based on the latest report on the future of education technology, it revealed that virtual reality, online instructions, makerspaces, wearable tech and robotics could be helpful in enhancing personalized learning for millions of students all over the world. In addition, educational institutions were also in the process of redesigning its classrooms to be more conducive for the incorporation of EdTech and more hands-on learning.

Aside from education technology, the article also highlighted the significance of movement and creativity in education among the learners of today. In today's modernized instructional method of teaching, educators have turned into coaches and guides rather than a lecturer who stand in the front of a classroom.

Even though the integration of education technology looks so promising, it didn't just pass without some hurdles. As a matter of fact, several school districts in the rural areas are still facing the so-called digital equity issue, stressing the sad reality that not every demographic has the same access level to advanced technologies and quality learning.

In other education technology-related news, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) News reveals that the university's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Office of Digital Learning and Teaching and Learning Lab have collaborated with community colleges to innovate and develop EdTech. Through MIT's Fly-by-Wire project, it will provide a more customized teaching and learning experiences.
