Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Mean Girls’ Movie Is Mean At All? Infamous Tina Fey-Created Teen Flick Captures Teenage Life, The Rise Of Digital Era

If you were born in 90s and a teenager in 2004, you have probably watched the famous movie "Mean Girls." And if you did, have you also got hooked to it? If yes, belated happy mean girls day!

Even though the movie might have shown in theaters several years ago or 11 years to be exact, its spark doesn't end there. As Alice Vincent has written on The Telegraph, Tina Fey's film, "Mean Girls." resonates up to now because it captures teenagers on the edge of the digital era. In fact, according to Yahoo, the nation has celebrated the "Mean Girls" National Holiday last Oct. 3.

"'Mean Girls' celebrated its 10th anniversary a couple of years ago, and for some it was a milestone far greater than a university graduation or a quarter-century birthday," Vincent said. "Ten years of 'Mean Girls' meant 10 years since an adolescence on the brink of the internet, and everything it accompanied: to put it that in context, Facebook launched mere months before."

Vincent added the movie does not only capture the heart of the female teens but also the last part of the timeline when teenagers are not yet engulfed with smartphones. If you've noticed the movie does not include any selfies, tweets, Instagram, Facebook or anything from the Internet. What was just included is — "The vicious three-way calls that connect The Plastics are made on landline phones."

Produced and directed by Lorne Michaels and Mark Waters, "Mean Girls" is a Tina Fey creation, which was based on a bestselling book, "Queen Bees & Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends & Other Realities of Adolescence." Actress/performer Lindsay Lohan, 30, takes the lead role as Cady Heron.

Speaking of Lohan, the original "Mean Girls" star recently posted a photo on her Instagram showing an exchange message with her friend at which they pulled a joke on the National "Mean Girls" Day, as per Fox43. For Lohan's Instagram post, please see below.
