The "Power Rangers" are making a comeback in the form of a new video game called "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Game developers, Bandai Namco, made the reveal at the New York Comic Con.
It's morphin' time again as the "Power Rangers" are coming back in video game form in "Power Rangers: Mega Battle," in a classic action brawler. The game is set in a multiplayer beat-em-up style, and up tot five players can join in and play as the Rangers themselves.
It certainly brings plenty of nostalgia as the game itself revolves around the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" television series, as each level of the game is based on an episode from the show, according to Gematsu.
"Power Rangers: Mega Battle" packs plenty of action as players get to choose their favorite ranger and morph into battle, using their weapons, martial arts, and even summon the almighty Megazord. Players will be able to string together combos of light, heavy, and weapon attacks to take down baddies.
The game also lets players level up and unlock new moves as they progress. The enemies in "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" are also taken straight from the first two seasons of the original series, which brings back plenty of memories for the fans.
"Power Rangers: Mega Battle" was revealed at the Bandai Namco booth at the New York Comic Con, where a short gameplay preview of the game was shown for the public. According to Game Spot, the "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" game will be released in January 2017, prior to the release of the new "Power Rangers" movie, directed by Dean Israelite.
Prior to the "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" preview at the New York Comic Con, Bandai Namco made no prior announcements that a "Power Rangers" game was in the works. It certainly comes as a surprise for fans everywhere.
