Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been confirmed to be released around mid-November according to a post by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun on his Weibo page. Xiaomi's flagship phablet is expected to ship with premiums specs similar to high end smartphones such as Apple's iPhone 7 Plus.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Xiaomi's next flagship device after the success of Xiaomi Mi 5s and 5s Plus, is suggested to arrive in two models. The first model is said to sport a curved LG dual-edge screen with 1440 x 2560 resolution while the other comes with 1080 x 1920 resolution in 5.5.-inch flat screen.
As Phone Arena reported, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 models will be integrated with 4GB and 6GB of RAM, respectively. One variant will carry 64GB of internal memory while the other will have 256GB of internal storage capacity. Both Xiaomi Mi Note 2 devices will reportedly ship with quad-core CPU powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC and an Adreno 530 GPU.
Interestingly, one variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is also expected to equip a dual lens camera system on its rear. The device will apparently bring a fair competition to the iPhone 7 Plus with its 12 MP dual lens back camera.
It seems that dual lens cameras are becoming the new trend on recently released premium smartphones nowadays. Apple debuted its first flagship device that sport the dual lens camera technology on its iPhone 7 Plus last month while Xiaomi, apart from the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Note 2, just recently launched its first device that equips the same technology, the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus.
Meanwhile, the other variant of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will not equip a dual lens camera. It will sport a single camera with OIS instead. Moreover, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is also believed to have a black variant similar to Apple's jet black model, Headlines & Global News reported.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 specific release date has not been confirmed by the Xiaomi CEO. However, more specs and features of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 are expected to surface before the device officially unveils in November.
