New Wolverine Film Will Be Entitled 'Logan'; X-23, Caliban And More Set To Appear

Who doesn't love Wolverine? Or better yet, who doesn't love a superhero imbued superhuman healing factor, heightened senses, nearly indestructible adamantium skeleton and 6 sharp claws? He has appeared in all of the X-Men movies, plus 2 under his name. Today, actor Hugh Jackman is preparing himself, as well as the throng of fans all over the world, for its 3rd title.

There have been a number of rumors that the upcoming Wolverine film might be the last time we see Jackman portraying the grumpy mutant. This was confirmed by Lazy Gamer, who said the third installment of the Wolverine franchise might just be Jackman's last hurrah, and will be entitled simply as "Logan". The concept, according to his growing fan-base, will revolve around the "Old Man Logan" storyline in the comic book.

Lazy Gamer also jotted down several possibilities about the coming Wolverine movie. Based on the bullets, it is said that "Logan" will take place 2024, and "its tone has been described as "Darker, than any other Wolverine or X-Men movie". They added that the character role "burnt out and his mutant healing factor no longer what it was once". It also said that "time has not been kind to Wolverine" and he drowns "chronic pain with alcohol.

Other hints included in the website is the fact that the girl holding Wolverine's hand in the teaser poster is a mutant "who happens to share a similar mutation as Logan and has two claws instead of the usual three." This now proves that she is X-23, Wolverine's clone-daughter. Logan will also feature the government-based, mutant-catching group "Transgien" as well as an aging Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Caliban (Stephen Merchant).

With the success of X-Men Apocalypse setting the bar for future superhero movies from the Marvel Universe, "Logan" will take on the mantle to give the fans something to look forward to. And even if it's the last call for the man behind Wolverine in the big screen, the franchise's future is already cast in stone.
