It's no surprise that Ransom Rigg's bestselling novel, "Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children" tops the watch list of the many expectators and movie buffs. With Tim Burton behind the production, as expected, the fantasy novel-turned-movie breathed a life to a new world.

In a report published by Variety, "Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children" brought home the amount of $28.5 million in the opening screening, topping the weekend box office. It has gone far away from the fantasy film's measly budget of just $110 million.

In a followup story, Variety reported that it just went past the $28.5-million startup and topped the international box office with $36.5 million from global audiences. "Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children," Ransom Rigg's young adult novel fare well overseas that it reached 59 territories and made $36.5 million, according to Variety.

Tim Burton is no less than the artist he has always been, creating a long list of masterpieces from "The Night Before Christmas," Alice in Wonderland," "Batman," "Planet of the Apes." Now, this includes his all-new blockbuster hit, "Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children."

How peculiar is Miss Perigrine's children, you ask? Well, it gets complicated with a flying girl, an invisible boy, the girl on fire, the boy who keeps bees in his insides and many of their kind which represents the limits of humanity.

The story of "Miss Perigrine's Peculiar Children" unfolds when Jacob Portman found the mysterious photo album owned by his grandfather with creepy and not-so-human pictures inside. One day, his beloved grandfather was attacked by an unidentified creature he has only seen for the first time ever.

"Miss Perigrine's Peculiar Children" therefrom became a quest to know the truth behind the photograph, the last few words of his grandfather and the wicked prime suspect behind his granpa's killing. Jacob set on a journey to the old house where curiosity led him.
