Martin then fueled the reports that "The Winds of Winter" will be out sometime next year after the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finale when he said, "I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to 'Game of Thrones,' so there's a lot of material there and I'm writing more. At the moment we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish so that's all speculation."
Although Martin made it clear that there will be a delay for "The Winds of Winter," he sort of assured fans that it is coming out even if it is at a later time than expected. This then debunked rumors that "The Winds of Winter" is not coming out at all.
