Whitney Houston's 22-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has been transferred to hospice care and taken off life support Wednesday, the family announced. In a statement released by Pat Houston, Bobbi's aunt and caretaker, the family has finally made the painful decision to let Bobbi die naturally following nearly six months of being in a coma.
"Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care," the statement from the family read, according to CNN. "We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God's hands now."
The, family, however, is still hoping for a miracle, according to People Magazine. "No one is giving up on her. Everyone just wants to make sure she's in the right place for her to get the best treatment she can get," a source said.
As Bobbi Kristina was being transferred to hospice care, her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, sent a message on his Twitter account, saying, "We keep praying, she has fought hard this long don't give up hope." He still hasn't made up with Bobbi Kristina's family after they accused him of being responsible for what happened to Whitney's daughter.
The Houstons have, in fact, filed a lawsuit against Gordon, also on Wednesday, in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia. In it, the family stated that Gordon stole $11,000 from Bobbi Kristina and "caused, among other things, substantial bodily harm to Brown," according to the CNN report. He was not allowed to see his girlfriend since she was hospitalized in January.
Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in her bathtub in the home she shared with Gordon on Jan. 31. Initial reports say that it was a suspected drug overdose, as the young woman and Nick have been known to use drugs from time to time. In the lawsuit against Gordon, it was revealed that prior to the incident, the couple had a heated argument.
"On the morning of January 31, 2015, Brown became embroiled in a loud argument with Defendant at her townhome," the statement read. It added, "The loud argument ended and Brown was later found unresponsive and unconscious, face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out."
While the lawsuit is a civil case, the police said that Brown's "accident" is being treated as a criminal investigation, according to CNN.
Bobbi Kristina is Whitney Houston's only child with singer Bobby Brown.
