The first live shows of Series 11 of the X Factor UK just started, and we are already down for the results. In what has been an impressive Jukebox night, Simon Cowell did not fail in delivering surprises for tonight.
In a change of events, Simon Cowell introduced a new kind of elimination which involved a Bottom 3 with the viewers saving one contestant from the Sing Off. The remaining two contestants would then have the unlucky fate of having to sing their hearts out for the judges to choose who to save; in case of a deadlock from the four judges, we go back to the original vote numbers.
The Bottom 3 for the first live shows were Freddy Parker, Bratavio, and Saara Aalto. Luckily, Freddy Parker was saved by the viewing public while Bratavio and Saara were sent backstage to prepare for their save-me song.
Saara Aalto was up first as she sang Sia's "Alive," and was afterwards given a standing ovation from some of the judges. Up next was Bratavio who opted to play with their strengths by singing "The Only Way is Up" by Yazz.
For the judges' vote, only Bratavio's mentor, Louis Walsh, opted to keep them while Scherzinger, Osbourne and Cowell chose to save Aalto. Cowell even went as far as to mention that the sing-off was like comparing a guinea pig to a race-horse.
For the people at MJs Big Blog, the results have been predictable as Bratavio came across as unlikeable and a joke act, the combo of which was a sure-fire elimination. With Brooks Way disqualified even before the lives had started, The Sun reports that the show may be bringing back another group, as confirmed by Rylan Clark; sadly, it isn't Bratavio, but viewers have been favoring Yes Lad or 4 of Diamonds to come back.
Next week's theme has been revealed to be Motown.
