As unlikely as it may seem, it looks like controversial pop star Miley Cyrus actually won the heart of a parent. In an interview with Howard Stern, "Terminator: Genysis" star Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals that he had no concerns regarding the decision of his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, to pursue a romantic relationship with the singer. In fact, the former governor of California even thinks that Cyrus is a "fantastic person," according to ET Online.
Cyrus has been widely known for her highly controversial activities as well as questionable behavior but Schwarzenegger cites two main reasons behind his confidence that his son did not make the wrong decision in dating the actress. "Under normal circumstances maybe I would be nervous, but I'll tell you the two reasons why not," he says, according to Business Standard.
"One is my kids are very strong. They have had their upbringing. They know exactly how far they can go and they should be adventurous, they should venture out and meet different people, so I was not worried about that," Schwarzenegger explains. He then adds, "The other thing is when I did meet Miley Cyrus, when she came up to Sun Valley skiing during the holidays, I found out that she was a fantastic person."
The second reason referred to by the elder Schwarzenegger was further discussed during the interview. He shares that Cyrus was amazing in handling the children in the area and actually exerted much effort and energy into bonding with them. Watching the pop star play and hang out with the kids, Schwarzenegger immediately turned into a big fan of Cyrus and he is not afraid to say.
"We had little kids in the house, my nephew's little kids," Maria Shriver's former husband explains. "She went out every day to buy gifts for them. She played with them, played with their phone and showed them things." He then adds, "But really, sincerely, like sometimes two hours at a time, would go out in the snow with them."
The 67-year-old actor also has a comeback for this raising their eyebrows on his story involving Cyrus and the children. He cites the professional life and image of the singer as the reason for her antics, thereby shedding light on the incessant cringe worthy activities linked to Cyrus as of late. As a Hollywood man himself, Schwarzenegger is no stranger to these PR stunts.
"She has this career side where she has to be a little bit out there because she grew up in a music family. So what? It didn't bother me," he says. He continues to say, "Patrick had a wonderful experience, a great relationship, and then the whole thing eventually fell apart."
Cyrus and Patrick called it quits in April following a tumultuous relationship ridden with accusations of infidelity, drugs and heavy partying.
