"The Vampire Diaries" final season just got a new trailer that revealed an evil Damon (Ian Somerhalder) killing humans and drowning them in a vault. "The Vampire Diaries" trailer also hinted that a new villain has come for Damon and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and it seems that it is the end for the Salvatore brothers.
"The Vampire Diaries" trailer saw Damon telling Stefan, "This is it. This is the beginning of the end." It could be Damon's hint that the show is coming to an end or could be a hint that both of them are going to die.
As "The Vampire Diaries" trailer progressed, a woman was seen telling Caroline (Candice King), "It has come for them," E! News reported. Though nothing more about the identity of the villain have been revealed on the trailer, it could imply that the evilness that has gotten into Damon is also after Stefan. This evil creature might bring an end to the Salvatore brothers as Damon said, "Once the devil comes, it comes. You're done."
Whoever or whatever this creature is, it seems that all it wants to bring is darkness over the Salvatore brothers and the people in Mystic Falls on "The Vampire Diaries." Could it be someone who wants vengeance over Damon and Stefan?
The Salvatore brothers have encountered numerous villains on "The Vampire Diaries" in the past so it is kind of hard to determine who among the villains could come back and cast vengeance on them. However, since it has been rumored that Nina Dobrev's character could make a comeback on "The Vampire Diaries," it may be possible that she will be back as Katherine Pierce, Parent Herald reported.
It can be recalled that the last time Katherine was seen on "The Vampire Diaries" was when Stefan stabbed her but was unable to cross the Other Side so she cannot reunite with her daughter. She was just swept away and nothing was heard from her again on "The Vampire Diaries."
It may be possible that Katherine found a way to gain more powers and return to Mystic Falls to plot her revenge on Stefan as he is the reason why Katherine died. And as for Damon, Katherine had a love-hate relationship on "The Vampire Diaries" with Damon so it is possible that Katherine will also drag him into her vengeance.
Additionally, it was Katherine Pierce who started it all when she turned the Salvatore brothers into vampires on the first season of "The Vampire Diaries." So, it seems logical for her to end Damon and Stefan on the final season. However, fans should take this speculation with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed who the evil villain would be on "The Vampire Diaries" yet.
