"You can't see me, my time now is now," goes WWE superstar John Cena's song. But it was definitely not his time during the Triple Threat Match with Aj Styles and Dean Ambrose, who battled it out for the WWE World Championship belt during No Mercy.
Everyone rooting for John Cena may have lost their trust after they were disappointed as they were expecting him to get the WWE World Championship belt, which will tie with legendary wrestler Ric Flair's record of winning the belt 16 times, according to WWE.
Dean Ambrose's only chance of regaining his World Championship belt was gone after he lost during the Triple Threat Match, which was the main event for No Mercy. Aj Styles, the current WWE World Championship belt holder, tapped out of the game.
So how did John Cena not end up with the belt? John Cena took a hold of the ramble in the first part. Then, he STF Aj Styles while at the same the latter was being locked too with the Calf Crusher by Dean Ambrose, leaving Aj Styles to quit.
There had been two submissions, that is why the referee decided to have another round. This time, wrestlers can do anything, as the next round has no rules. Aj Styles managed to down John Cena with a steel chair.
"Sometimes in life, things don't go according to plan. All you can do is the very best you can. #NeverGiveUp," tweeted John Cena of his No Mercy Triple Threat Match. Is this a sign that the WWE superstar is resigning from the ring?
It seemed not. As John Cena was not ready to "step aside" from his WWE career, according to ESPN. John Cena had also been acting, appearing in "Daddy's Home," "Trainwreck" and "No Way Out."
But John Cena left his "Never Give Up" arm band at the ring after the match. Does this mean the wrestler is finally giving up of the World Championship belt? In an interview, John Cena denied to give details further on what leaving the arm band means.
