Drew Barrymore Opens up about Future Plans for Baby Olive

Drew Barrymore wants to be a perfect mom.

During a chat with Oprah Winfrey recently, the actress talked about how she's planning to bring up baby Olive.

Barrymore gave birth to Olive Barrymore Kopelman Sept. 26, 2012. She is the first child of the 37-year-old actress with her art consultant husband Will Kopelman.

Though Olive is very small, the actress has started planning so that her daughter will be brought up in a healthy way. For that, Barrymore is planning to keep an open and friendly relationship with her daughter and confess all the right and wrong things from her past life.

"I will absolutely instill in her that you cannot be ashamed of the journey that it took, you know, to get where you are if you are proud of yourself," Glamour magazine quoted Barrymore. "But I will also try to instill on her that I did not have guidance and that is why I lived my life that way. And although I am proud of it and I don't want to spend the rest of my life regretting it, there is no option for her to take that path because she has guidance."

The actress, who has been married twice, had a troubled childhood with drugs and alcohol, also assured that she will perform the duties of a mother sincerely and will not repeat the mistakes done by her mom.

"I will be there at 3pm in the school line waiting to pick her up, that's first and foremost," she said, according to Glamour magazine. "I think that's as a kid what I craved the most, was just believing that was going to be there. Being there in that school line. I think the world offers so many wonderful varieties of obstacles but that shouldn't be one for kids - is the worry that my parent won't be there."
