Announced through the Dota 2 blog a couple of days ago, the new series documenting the lives and hardships behind the glory of professional players is now available. The series stands as a testament to the legacy of Dota 2 as one of the e-sports scene's most culturally-impacting contributions.
After Valve's 2013 effort with the first documentary effort they've produced entitled "Free To Play", the gaming giant is at it again today with a close look at the lives of professional teams and what it takes to build one. Taking flight with scenes from EG and Fnatic in the first episode, the film follows the players as they try to rebuild friendships and rosters, training hard for The Boston Major on December as cited on the Dota 2 blog.
The documentary shows how the process of creating and maintaining a top-tier Dota team takes not only individual talent and team chemistry, but also the belief of avid fans and hardcore e-sports followers from around the world. As the Dota 2 gaming community prepares for yet another multi-million dollar annual gaming event, the rest of the gaming world stands waiting for new heroes, rising stars, and well-loved gaming legends like Dendi, whose quirky and experimental approach to the game gives a lot of entertainment value to watching live-streamed matches.
The limited-edition series is available to owners of the $9.99 Fall Battle Pass which includes bundled items, quests, and cosmetic improvements earned for finishing quests, as well as interface modifications to the game. Valve's in-game streaming platform will serve up the documentary series at 16:00 PDT, with two-hour intervals over a 24-hour broadcast schedule. True Sight will be available with English, Russian, and Chinese subtitles, with a live chat open to all viewers and those sharing the screen with them.
