HBO has not yet made any official announcements for "The Leftovers" even as filming for Season 3 has wrapped up a month ago. Yet there have been speculations that viewers might get the season's first trailer soon. The title to the show's finale episode might have also been leaked on social media.
"The Leftovers" Season 3 is currently in post-production following its Australia filming and fans of the drama series who are eager to get a peek of the first teaser have been playing the waiting game. Carter Matt reports that it's likely HBO will air the trailer towards the end of "Westworld" Season 1, which takes place in early December. However, some viewers are hoping that the first trailer should come out on Friday, Oct. 14.
The Oct. 14 date is significant to "The Leftovers" because this was the date of the Sudden Departure that kicked off the series, where 10 percent of the world's population mysteriously disappeared. Tom Perrota, the author of the book "The Leftovers" is based from, said that Oct. 14 was actually the date when he started writing the story. "And so I thought, well, let this be the day," he said, WatchingTheLeftovers reports.
Meanwhile, could "The Leftovers" Season 3's final episode be entitled "Big Departure?" Fans have been wondering about this after the show's soundtrack composer, Max Richter, posted a photo on Twitter. He's currently working on the music for the final season and his photo indicated a folder named "Big Departure." He also posted a sample of the soundtrack in another Twitter entry.
"The Leftovers" Season 3 is expected to air in the spring of 2017 and will likely take the spot of "Game of Thrones," as Parent Herald previously reported. HBO has confirmed that this will be the last season and it will only have eight episodes. Keep checking back on this site for the latest news on the series.
