Netflix Offered Chris Rock $40 Million For Two Stand-Up Specials?

Chris Rock is an American comedian, an actor and also a producer who is ought to do two comedy specials on Netflix. Chris Rock has appeared in comedy films including 'Grown Ups' and 'Grown Ups 2' with Adam Sandler.

Netflix is putting serious money to feature Chris Rock in two special stand-up comedy with a whopping $40 million. Netflix is set to tape Chris Rock's show in 2017. The second one is still on the planning stage and might be announced eventually.

Aside from a big $40 million deal with Netflix, Chris Rock is also making plans in doing a world wide tour for his stand-up comedy. Chris Rock's experience with recorded stand-up comedy special was also launched in one of the biggest cable companies, HBO.

Chris Rock's stand-up specials in HBO include The Chris Rock show, Bigger and Blacker and Never Scared. The comedian, actor and producer has also earned an Emmy nomination as one of the directors of Amy Schemer : Live at the Apollo, according to The Guardian.

Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of Netflix released his statement about Chris Rock's talent saying there is no one like him and Chris Rock is a comic royalty. Ted Sarandos of Netflix also said that they are offering creative freedom and a global platform that shall serve as a home for Chris Rock, having an incredible talent.

Ted Sarandos has also praised Chris Rock saying he's a beloved director and actor. Chris Rock's remarkable stand-up also makes him one of a kind. Chris Rock has mentioned that he's an edgy guy and not a dirty one.

It's not only Netflix that is on the line, putting up a deal with Chris Rock. HBO, Amazon and Hulu are also bidding for stand-up specials of the American comedian, Chris Rock, reported by Variety.
