Time is ticking until the impending release of the epic four-way crossover of the series "Arrow," "Supergirl," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow." While a lot is known about the DC Comics heroes, here are a few things to learn about the formidable villains in the crossover event, The Dominators.
The CW's DC Comics crossover episode will be based on the 1980s limited series, "Invasion!". CW33 reports that "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow" showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, said that the event will be faithful to the three-issue comic book.
Hollywood Reporter says that in "Invasion!", The Dominators are an alien race prolific in genetic mutation and technology. The Dominators are yellow-skinned aliens from the outer cosmos were also the same that have stood against Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes.
The Dominators, also collectively known as Dominion, are also experts of gadgetry and has a high regard of caste system which is determined by the size of the red marks on their forehead. The "Arrowverse" villains are capable of mutating their own genes to improve themselves and become stronger.
CBR reports that The Dominators then invade Earth in search of the metahumans as they are interested in copying the metagenes, and eliminate the super-powered ones as well. However, while the invasion has been halted, a gene bomb has been dropped by The Dominators which resulted in the creation of more metahumans.
The executive showrunner also said that even the physicality of The Dominators has been meticulously created. "We're using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane's interpretation of the characters."
The crossover event can be anticipated some time in November. "The Flash" Season 3 airs every Tuesday, "Arrow" Season 5 every Wednesday, "Supergirl" Season 2 every Monday and "Legends of Tomorrow" every Thursday.
