Hollywood has come up with a dream ensemble casting! Negotiations are reportedly underway for big stars like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson to work together in one film, and it will be all about mothers.
According to Deadline, the three Hollywood superstars are going to headline "Mother's Day," a film that will be directed by Garry Marshall. It will delve into the lives of several mothers as they go through various highs and lows leading up to that special day.
Marshall is known for his other holiday-themed movies like "Valentine's Day" and "New Year's Eve," which were released in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Both films also featured an ensemble cast of characters, whose lives became intertwined into one big story.
For "Mother's Day," however, production has tapped a new set of writers for the screenplay including Anya Kochoff-Romano and Lily Hollander. Kochoff-Romano's previous film work was writing for the movie "Monster-In-Law," which starred Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda in 2005.
While the film's plot and the actresses' specific roles are yet to be revealed, production for "Mother's Day" is reportedly being fast-tracked to start in August. This will mark the re-teaming of Julia Roberts and Garry Marshall after 15 years. The two first worked together in "Pretty Woman," the film that launched Roberts' status as an A-Lister.
According to Us Weekly, the three actresses will have no problem working alongside each other for the first time as they are already good friends. While they never were in one scene together, Julia was once a guest on Jennifer's hit TV series, "Friends." Meanwhile, Jennifer and Kate have been especially chummy back in January during the Golden Globe Awards when Jen was caught grabbing Kate's butt on the red carpet. The booty grab video went viral, according to Uproxx, and it was all in good fun.
Jason Sudeikis is also expected to be in the cast of "Mother's Day." The movie will be expected to arrive in theaters around the holiday in 2016.
Meanwhile, Julia's newest film, "Secret In Their Eyes," is set to hit theaters in October. The film, which also stars Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor, is an adaptation of "El Secreto De Sus Ojos," a 2010 Oscar-winning foreign-language film, Yahoo reports.
Kate Hudson, on the other hand, has "Rock the Kasbah" with Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel and Bill Murray, where Kate reportedly shared an on-screen kiss with the latter, Mail Online stated. The film is currently in post-production. According to Deadline, the actress is also in the midst of shooting "Deepwater Horizon" with Mark Wahlberg.
Meanwhile, another report on Deadline says Jennifer Aniston is also set to do another mother-themed film, a comedy called "Mean Moms" with Sean Anders.
